Alix Sasse
Board Member & Director of Marketing & Operations
Alix is the owner of The Social Bit Marketing and Photography which specializes in elevating and nurturing equine businesses and small businesses in general. She also serves as a equine, corporate and life coach with Fresh Start Life Solutions.
As a graduate from William Woods University and a student from their equestrian administration program and communications where she studies public relations and leadership training, she passionately serves FCYR. As well as a mother to 3 boys she has combined her love for the Lord- her skills and passions all in one to complement our mission and outreach goals.

Nina Morgan
Director of Herd Management & Equine Wellness
Raised around horses from a young age, Nina developed a lifelong love and respect for them. Nina holds a B.S. in Animal Health and Science with a minor in Wildlife Ecology, with a special focus on equine wellness, biomechanics, and responsible horse management. She believes good horsemanship starts with understanding the whole horse—how they move, how they live, and what they need to thrive.
What makes this chapter especially meaningful to Nina is the opportunity to share her love of horses with the next generation. She is proud of her Cherokee and Powhatan heritage and carries a deep appreciation for the connection between people, animals, and the land. Around the ranch, you’ll find her combining science with good old-fashioned horse sense—and bringing plenty of heart to the job.

Our wranglers go through a seasonal training on safety, horsemanship, and character development to help prepare them for riding with our herd and our clients. Our hope is that we serve you well and that your time with us reflects the peace, joy and love that God has shown us in our horses and the beauty of the trails all around us.

Head Wrangler
I love being around horses and mostly unknowingly they have helped me more than I know. I enjoy the trails so much and I think it is wonderful to be outside (for everyone to be) and they are such an obtrusive form of transportation- I love sharing that experience.

The gift that it is to have something like horses in my life for my whole life. It is the only constant next to my relationship with the Lord and I am constantly brought back to him, blessed by him, and challenged by him through them. Many of my best friends came from horses and to humbly serve him and show others God’s wonders and love on them through our rides is a total dream.

Denzel Washington once said, “Don’t aspire to make a living, aspire to make a difference.” This has truly aligned with me in helping out with Leo and Flint Creek Youth Ranch. The experiences FCYR has given me has been so impactful and has pushed me become a better person, spreading kindness and smiles to others. Volunteering here, getting to know the herd, and meeting new people has been amazing, and it makes me incredibly proud to be apart of FCYR.

FCYR has been such a blessing to our family in many ways. It gives us access to these gorgeous creatures, while simultaneously teaching my kids responsibility and self-confidence that they truly can’t get anywhere else. The wrangling is a great time for them to practice leadership training and we love to meet new people along the trail. The Horses connect us in special ways, and we are just thankful for Leo and his team allowing us to be a part of this wonderful mission.

I come out to help any chance I get because I truly love it! 🤎 These horses and the people I’ve met along the way bring me so much happiness. There’s just something so special about being out in nature, spending time with the horses, and meeting new people on every ride. I love being around horses they have such a soft place in my heart! Getting to know all the horses in the herd has been a joy they all have their own personalities which is so fun to watch. I’ve been riding with Mr.Leo since I was 3 years old and he is such an amazing role model and the mission for FCYR everything we stand for is so special!!!
